Tape shall be made one side 1.7 mills thickness glass cloth 0.012 mm thickness Polyester films,
between 0.120 grs./sq.mtr. Uniform Mica Paper bonded with an insulation “F” class and “H”
class varnish, which stands temperature 150°C and 180oC respectively. The varnish shall be cured
to tack free and thereafter slitting shall be done to get the Tapes to required widths.
Polyester Glass Mica Paper Tape Class “F & H”: Tapes are characterized by high flexibility, high dielectric and a uniform thickness. Due to low
compression on the application of pressure, leave no voids or empty spaces between and among
insulating layers.
Scope: This specification relates to the manufacture and supply of Class “F” andClass “H” varnish bonded. Nominal thickness 0.13mm, suitable for generator field and armature
coils requiring maximum resistance to high voltage temperature.
